What you accept, embrace & believe matters.
“Papa knows everything! Big Foot is real! I believe it!”, Miller Kae says with the conviction from her bones. She is certain that her source is good and she loves informing the others that she has a big, strong, convincing source as she announces to the rest of us.
Seriously, I have to admit that I find myself like Miller. I’ve loved her Papa, aka my Bobby, for most of my life and he’s not disappointed in being the one I go to when I want to know something. He’s the one that has set me straight since I was 15 years old. He’s one I’ve trusted even when I knew he loved cheating at games (and telling us that he was going to cheat before the game began LOL). When we were young and I had no other steady wise people in my life I asked him if he would just make up the answer if I asked him a question that he didn’t know the answer to. We’d be driving the highway and there was a strange looking building, and I’d ask him…. “Bobby, what is that?”, and he would reply with an answer that was very convincing with such a confident delivery. I’d smile and go onto the next thing.
It didn’t really matter to me what his answer was. Mostly, I enjoyed his engaging with me, going into my world with me, responding with something creative and often times even truthful. What I was looking for was an answer. If he knew the answer I’d be glad for it, but if he didn’t I was happy to hear that as well. I’d either chose to believe it or not and always thankful he’d indulge me with an answer and I’d be entertained.
Have you ever just wanted to have the answer, something to believe, something that made sense to you so badly that you would look within yourself and accept whatever you could understand, get your head around, or justify yourself with?
You know….. we all have hard questions and the answers are often not easily accepted. The enemy spins loops that cause you to doubt God, His wisdom, His faithfulness & His goodness to leave you with questions directing your focus to yourself …..
Why am I sick? Why doesn’t he love me? Why do I feel miserable?
Why didn’t I get that job, perfect spouse, amazing health, children who act like Jesus every day of their lives, a beautiful home/car/clothes, and smarts?
Why not me? Why not now?
Your answer will depend on your source. Many may settle for an answer that we can understand and wrap the mind around. Many will search within themselves for what “they believe” is the answer. Most will look for other voices that match theirs because validation comes in agreement!
The question then is….. who are you in agreement with?
~We all want to be in agreement and validated by others, but others may or may not KNOW Truth.
~We all want to be empowered by the Truth but not all are willing to embrace and
own an answer outside of our ability to believe, embrace & accept
~We all have to decide where the hard-to-believe/accept/embrace answers to our hard questions come from.
Knowing that God was here in the beginning and has no end, knowing that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and having the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth can be easy to see and most difficult to accept. When we, those who consider themselves to be Christians, believe this because it’s God’s Word and Truth then we are positioned to discover Truth waaaaay beyond our own ability. We validate that He is our Source and accept His Word, His heart, His thoughts, His intentions beyond yourself.
Accepting something doesn’t make it true. There is One Source of Truth. Without Him, Truth will remain hidden from you.
ASK YOURSELF
~ Does what I’m believing feed God’s heart for me?
~ Does what I’m embracing reflect God’s intentions for me?
~ Does what I’m accepting speak truth to what God desires for me,
~ Will what I am accepting, believing and embracing being strength &
power to fulfilling Gods intended purpose for my life?
If not…. accept, believe & embrace a God perspective regarding
ALL aspects of my mind, heart & life!
GOD = My Source
He is the love of my life, the loudest voice in my head, the longing of my heart, the One I live for, the One who I long to please, the Only Source that I live and move and breathe and have my being.
DECLARE
It is in Him that I will live my life, find my answers and believe beyond myself. This is where my flourishing life will be grown, a prospering and abundant legacy will be rooted and a passionate and intimate love relationship with Jesus will be the defining substance of fulfilling your God-given purpose.
