Why do we have to suffer through difficult, impossible, seemingly hopeless seconds, seasons, and even years in our life?
All of us will have impossible situations in our life. The most righteous and evilest individual will encounter impossible situations. It doesn’t quite seem fair that those of us who love God and live for His pleasure would have to go through such hard, impossible, discouraging and feeling hopeless times. The familiar information for us who believe God is good and kind and will always do with is right and best. Just because we love God with our lives doesn’t exempt us from hardship, pain, disappointment, or what feels like hopeless & impossible situations in our lives. As a matter of fact, we may experience even more of these seconds, seasons or years than the average.
So let’s start at the beginning.
When those unexplainable impossible circumstances have us by the throat what do we do?
1. We come to Him….
In all of our weakness, inability to understand, incapable of making it happen, cannot fix it, not able to make it disappear or anything good happen, and we move beyond yourself into the presence of the Living God. Removing yourself as our authority and letting go of what we don’t understand we come to Him as our Source and Father, who love us right in the middle of all of our humanness.
2. We hear His words…
In our thoughts and in our hearts we quiet all the voices and lean in. With our ear to His heart, we listen. He may impress upon us the words of the song we learned as a child or scripture that we think of as we open our ears to hear Him with all of our heart. One thing for sure is….. He will always respond to us, our cries, our desire to be near Him and know His heart and ways towards us!
3. We respond to His words and His presence…
It’s a conscious choice to respond. He is a rewarder of those who seek and respond to Him. We find ourselves being the recipient of His favor and His good will. In all that we don’t understand we declare His Sovereignty. In all that we can’t see we surrender to the One who sees it all. We declare with our mouth and think all day long on His Word and on all that pleases Him.
What does being the recipient of His favor and His good will look like?
The foundation of your life is deep, solid and laid secure upon the Rock. When the waters come to take you under, and the raging waters are destroying everything in their path your life will NOT be shaken. When you come to him, hear him, & respond to Him you will have a life built & established that is safe, sure, & secure.
How does this relate to the impossible circumstances in your life?
Here is what we know…
The high crushing waters are going to come.
The life-threatening circumstances will press in.
We are not going to understand or wrap our head around it all.
The enemy often controls our thoughts as he answers our feelings with suggestions that grow doubt, fear, hopelessness, anger, disappointment and so much more. It’s easy to give way to these thoughts because our feelings naturally line up with them when we are discouraged and feeling like our impossible situation is exactly that….. impossible.
What do we do with our impossible circumstances, situation & hopelessness?
My conclusion is this…. when we are in the middle of what feels and appears impossible we need to have a foundation in place where our life reflects the goodness and favor of the Lord. It’s not “in the absence” of difficulty & pain where we live an abundant and miraculous life, but “in spite of” the difficulty & pain is where we flourish.
How can that be????
God decides!
There is no power in heaven or on earth that can usurp Him.
Nothing in existence can thwart His plan.
He establishes and determines our steps and delights in every detail of our lives.
He will not withhold one single good thing from those who do what is right!
There is NO power that can take away or keep anything away from you that God wants you to have.
So it’s time that we step into your impossible situation with a new footing. One that will hold sure when the foundation beneath you shakes and cracks and comes after you with full force.

You to come to Him….
You to hear His words…
You to respond to His words and His presence…

Pray the words of this song over yourself! Surrender your impossible situation with open hands asking His Spirit to lead you. In your suffering, believe God to lead you THROUGH your struggle & trust Him to work every detail for His glory & your good. Look and Listen as He speaks. You will find Him when you seek Him with all of your heart…..
